SERIES NARRATIVE
A series of discrete urban interventions, “How To…” Projects were a motif in the urban landscape set about to provoke questioning around “how things were and how they could be.” Subtle, collaborative, these works often skewed everyday scenes, replacing birdsong with boomboxes duck taped into trees, your standard placemat word jumbles with the crimes of the Bush administration.
The series took place intermittently over a period of two years, each one a kind of study in urban space. A compendium exhibition and booklet was assembled for the three collective exhibition Peer Pressure II at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco in 2006, along with long time friends and conspirators Temporary Services and Naeem Mohaiemen & Visible Collective.
